This position will interpret and apply the Collective Bargaining Agreements between the University and the ten labor organizations representing University employees on all matters, including: compensation, leave, filling of vacancies and discipline.  The position will correctly apply relevant law and policy, such as Michigan’s Public Employment Relations Act in partnership with the Office of General Counsel and outside labor counsel.  The position will develop positive and productive relationships with stakeholders throughout campus, including: Human Resources staff in MSU HR and in units throughout campus, as well as with union officers and representatives.  The position will participate in, and at times represent the University, in grievances, arbitrations, collective bargaining and other meetings.  The position will also engage in outreach and training activities. Under the direction of the Township Manager, the Director of Human Resources plans and coordinates human resource management activities of the Township to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions such as employee compensation, recruitment, personnel policies, and regulatory compliance.  The salary range for the Human Resources Director is $82,033 – $106,646 DOQ, plus exceptional benefits including a defined contribution retirement plan.
